We aim to provide outdoor play in the morning and afternoon. This allows the children to have different opportunities outside that they can’t have indoors. They will have the opportunity to explore different textured ground, nature, planting, games, physical equipment, risk assessment opportunities and physical play. We will also take our indoor learning into the outdoor environment, such as stories, construction and art resources. The children have the opportunity to mix with children of all ages in our communal garden and have free access to all areas.
For our younger children who are not quite mobile, we have a dedicated area within the garden for these children to enjoy the outdoor space.

We have a large and secure garden which includes a nature area, a rockery, Bug Hotel and a mud kitchen! 
Towards the bottom of the garden, we have plots to grow our own vegetables and flowers.
We also have construction materials within the garden which children use purposefully for a variety of experiences including, balancing, building, representational and imaginative play.

We do try to get out in all weathers so we ask that you provide appropriate clothing for the garden or walks.

Sunny Days: hats that cover their necks, sun cream, sunglasses.
​
Cold Days: hats, gloves, scarves, rain coats and wellie boots. We definitely recommend all-in-one suits for this age group as they can get very mucky outdoors.
